Bill Gates, the world’s 3rd richest person, was interviewed on the Clubhouse app on 25 February for a wide-ranging discussion that touched on climate, bitcoin, and the U.S. taking care of the COVID pandemic. The meet was conducted by Andrew Ross Sorkin, co-host of CNBC’s Screech Box, and was essentially more streamlined than prior appearances by Tesla boss Elon Musk and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, with negligible client interruptions. Pitched as a “casual chat” with the Microsoft co-founder, who is promoting his new book How to avoid a climate disaster,” the discussion was carried in a rather cordial manner. Though the interview was brief, it was extensive in terms of content that is produced.

Bill Gates shed light on many issues and brought forth his ideas on multiple issues that he feels more important. From his preference for a particular ‘operating system’ to professing upon the importance of ecosystem and from ‘censuring’ the Trump administration for its ‘poor’ efforts to contain Covid-19 to describing his ‘horrible’ experience of getting contracted with the pandemic, Bill Gates touched multiple topics. But, in this article, though we would briefly discuss other parts of his interview, our main focus will be on Bill’s thoughts about Bitcoin and Tesla.

Bill Gates’ Views on Tesla:

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, denounced the very rich human rights advocate, Bill, for ‘isolating’ his company. The Microsoft co-founder has avoided the address within the past, but more as of late, he came near to conceding that he did have a brief position within the automaker at a few points. Musk charged Bill Gates of ‘censuring’ Tesla prior to this month as he countered Gates’ claims that the company’s electric Semi was not reasonable. Musk said he doesn’t think Entryways was “ill-intentioned” in his comments approximately the Semi not being reasonable. He accepts Gates “didn’t know what he was talking around,” which “likely someone told him that, and he is fair not that near to the material science of it.” However, Gates, this time, tried to soften the discussion and answered rather cautiously. “Well, you know, I think Tesla is an amazing company,” Bill said. “I wish I’d owned or been more on the long side, but it’s great. I have lots of relatives that own Teslas that I helped buy for them, so nothing but positive thoughts about Tesla and its role,” Gates further extended the discussion. Despite Bill praising Tesla’s ‘innovations,’ he expressed his reluctance in purchasing and owning Tesla’s car. Gates said Musk’s “positioning is to maintain a high level of outrageous comments” and that he’s “not much involved in vaccines, although he “makes a great electric car.

It shows that though Bill Gates has the potential to lower the temperature, he has no tilt toward compromising on his thoughts on humanitarian issues.

Bills Gates Take on Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency:

Sorkin inquired about Entryways for his take on the “climate argument” around bitcoin — the idea that the mining of cryptocurrency requests an extraordinary bargain of computational control and power utilization. There have already been many raised eyebrows on the fact that Bitcoin employs more power per exchange than any other strategy known to mankind. So it’s not like an extraordinary thing for climate betterment. Gates included that there are “other ways of doing digital currency” that are not secret transactions, and that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is invested in making those services available to uplift the poorest in India and Africa.” His views in the interview were consistent with his take about the ‘environment protection’ and ‘secure’ world.

Besides these issues, Bill Gates focused on some other important issues as well. Let us try to decipher some of his points.

Which ‘Operating System’ Bill Gates prefers?

Though he didn’t specify the particular company of cell phones which Bill Gates uses.

“I actually [use] an Android phone. Because I like to keep track of everything I’m often playing around with the iPhones, but the phone I carry around happens to be Android. Some of the Android manufacturers pre-install Microsoft software in a way that makes it easy for me and they’re more flexible about how the software connects up with the operating system so that’s what I’ve ended up getting used to. A lot of my friends have iPhones so there’s no purity,” said Bill Gates.

Putting in a nutshell, Bill Gates’ interview can be summed up in a few words. Whereas he praised the innovation of ‘Tesla,’ he expressed his reluctance to have it for some of his reservations. Also, he expressed his dislike of Bitcoins as well. Besides, he covered many other issues.
